Has Common Courtesy Died???

Call me crazy, but I assume people come out to eat for the whole experience of being waited on and somewhat pampered. So why the hell do I get all the people who come in, talking on their damn cell phones? The hostess can't interrupt for fear of being rude, so therefore can't even ask if they want a table or booth.
You would think by the time I get to their table to greet them and give them the specials and blah blah blah of the day, they would be off their damn phone! But no. No matter how nice you smile and politely gesture of what they would like to drink, they look up at you like you are stupid and then have the audacity to hold a finger up to you, expecting you to awkwardly stand there while they take a long ass time just to hang up the cell. Half of them don't realize you have 4 other tables that are trying to wave you down while you have to be polite and wait for the damn cell phone user to hang up!
What the hell is up with people stacking personal items or plates right in front of themselves on the table, crowding the area you need to put hot plates down on? I love it when I have two plates balanced on an arm, having the wonderful sensation of my flesh burning while I look down at the one person at the table that just stares up at their plate expectantly, waiting for me to set it down. CLEAR the damn space in front of you, and I Will!! You think I like putting that much strain on my wrist with those heavy plates, waiting for you to move your shit so I can put your food down??? Your keys go in your pockets or purse, your phone can be pushed off to the damn side, your water really has to be that close to the edge Right in front of you in order for you to properly sip it??! When I head towards your table, get to your table and name off which food you ordered so that you know I need to put your food down, that's normally your cue to make room for the plate.
